The Helpline has had a busy Summer with a month on month increase in calls in comparison to the same period last year. In July, August and September 2014 we have recorded 7,652 calls as compared to 7158 for the same months in 2013. Thank you to all of the team that work so hard to meet the demand but still retained the same level of customer care.
Jeans for Genes Day: Helpline staff joined in and raised money on Jeans for Genes Day, with some even going for extra points in Double Denim.
Staff Development: A warm welcome to one of our sessional workers who has joined the permanent Helpline team this month. All our sessional workers are fully trained before they start taking live calls, this ensures that the transition to permanent staff status is seamless.
Helpline training: Three members of staff have completed the Assist Suicide Prevention course this month, which they found very helpful. Many of our callers are extremely vulnerable and all permanent staff have now completed this training to ensure we can provide necessary support.
Social Media: We continue to raise awareness around domestic and sexual abuse and related issues, so we have been busy tweeting away and posting updates on our facebook page. We are grateful to everyone who has been supporting our efforts by liking us on Facebook and re-tweeting on Twitter.
