Welsh Women’s Aid were delighted to be able to host an open meeting with Sir Keir Starmer QC to discuss the forthcoming Welsh Government’s promised legislation on Ending Violence against Women.
Keir Starmer served as Director of Public Prosecutions and head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) between 2008 and 2013. He was perhaps the most high profile holder of this post in British history. During this period he helped transform Britain’s legal landscape on domestic violence amongst other topics. He was knighted in the recent New Years Honours list and has also agreed to lead a policy review for the Labour Party on how victims are dealt with in the criminal justice system.
The evening, sponsored by Positif Politics, was a great success, atteneded by Carl Sargeant AM and Lesley Griffiths AM.
