On the eve of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Welsh Women’s Aid is pleased to announce its first t-shirt collaboration with feminist fashion brand, Black & Beech.
The Cardiff-based brand has worked with Welsh Women’s Aid to create a new look for the ‘Liberté, Egalité, Sororité’ range, which is inspired by the classic Suffragette colours.
‘Liberté, Egalité, Sororité’ is a feminist alternative to the motto of France, which speaks to equality and fairness through revolutionary activism. The phrase can be traced back to the ‘Mouvement de la Liberation des Femmes’ in 1970s Paris.
For every one of these limited-edition t-shirts sold, Black and Beech is donating £5 to Welsh Women’s Aid.
Welsh Women’s Aid Chief Executive, Sara Kirkpatrick, said: “Welsh Women’s Aid is delighted to be working in partnership with a feminist brand like Black & Beech and we hope that this collaboration will offer people a new way to show their support of the work that we do.”
Founder of Black & Beech, Stacey Grant-Canham, said: “Black & Beech is a brand that has intersectional feminism at its core. From the messages displayed on apparel to the way that products are sourced and designed, to the various charities we support, empowerment and celebration of women is central.
“I’ve really enjoyed coming up with this concept with Welsh Women’s Aid and I’m sure customers will be pleased that a donation of their purchase is going to such a worthwhile cause.”
‘Black & Beech x Welsh Women’s Aid’ t-shirts are on sale here. These are limited edition, so they won’t be around for long. Don’t forget to tag us in photos of your shirt on social media!
