Those in leadership roles across the public sector have a responsibility to foster an organisational culture and infrastructure in which violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence are acknowledged as issues which may affect the workforce, the client group and friends and family.
Welsh Government’s Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence team and Welsh Women’s Aid invites all senior public sector leaders to learn about and consider:
- leadership responsibilities under the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015,
- the case for creating a whole workforce approach to early identification and response, and to embedding violence against women prevention across every organisation’s core business.
- examples of how creating a culture change in our public services can be achieved, so that violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence is no longer tolerated in Wales.
This event will see leaders and senior officers discuss, learn and share knowledge on a range of topics including employer responsibility, leadership and systems change, and will make the case for creating a whole workforce approach to early identification and response.
This conference will build on the work of the Strengthening Leadership Series and resources for Group 6 of the National Training Framework.
Who should attend?
This conference is for all senior leaders in the Welsh public sector. This includes Chief Executives, Directors, Senior Managers, Council Leaders and Commissioners. Responding to and preventing violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence is everyone’s business, and we look forward to seeing you there to make this a reality.
