Welsh Women’s Aid is delighted to be the charity partner for Cardiff International Film Festival 2018.
In a time when the Me Too and Times Up campaigns challenging sexual harassment of women by men continue to reverberate across the film industry internationally, Welsh Women’s Aid welcomes Cardiff International Film Festival support to raise awareness of the work we do to call for an end to sexual harassment and all forms of violence against women, and the vital help and support available for those affected by it in Wales.
We know that 1 in 3 women in Wales will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.
Welsh Women’s Aid is the national charity in Wales working to end all forms of violence against women. We are a federation of specialist organisations in Wales that provide lifesaving services to survivors of violence and abuse – women, men, children, families – and deliver a range of innovative preventative services in local communities.
We hope our partnership with Cardiff International Film Festival’s will promote women’s rights to live free from harassment, violence and abuse in Wales and internationally.
Anyone affected by violence against women, domestic abuse or sexual violence in Wales can contact the Live Fear Free Helpline on 0808 80 10 800 for 24/7, for confidential information and support.
