Welsh Women’s Aid is delighted to announce that, in partnership with 15 of our specialist member organisations working to support survivors across Wales, we have secured vital funding via the Home Office Children Affected by Domestic Abuse Fund.
Our Children Matter Report (2019) found that of 18,487 children and young people experiencing domestic abuse, more than a third (77%) did not have access to specialist support in their communities. This much-needed funding will help us to improve this situation. It will strengthen our sector’s capacity to work with and support these children and young people based on our successful Change That Lasts model of work. Together, we will test a range of trauma-informed interventions and create a clear evidence base of what works.
Thanks to the Home Office for this essential support.
