Welsh Women’s Aid welcomes new members to their Board of Trustees
Welsh Women’s Aid is delighted to announce the appointment of seven highly skilled and experienced professionals to their Board of Trustees.
Welsh Women’s Aid’s current Trustees, Maria Thomas (Chair), the Head of Partnerships for Shaw Trust; Morgan Fackrell, Chief Executive of Cardiff Women’s Aid; Joy Dyment, Chief Executive of Stepping Stones North Wales; and Mutale Merrill OBE, founding Chief Executive of Bawso, will be joined on the Board, from November 2015, by:
Charlie Arthur, Chief Executive of Women’s Aid RCT, a new countywide service providing crisis accommodation, community based support to women, children and young people and a women’s skill centre.
Danielle Dolby, who works within the financial accounts section of Dyfed Powys Police, and who joins Welsh Women’s Aid as Treasurer.
Rachael Eagles, Managing Director of West Wales Domestic Abuse Service, a trained and qualified IDVA, chair of the Local Domestic Abuse Forum and a regional representative for Women’s Aid groups in the area.
Julia Hobbs, who joined as Chief Executive at Glyndwr Women’s Aid in June 2013, following a career spanning the health, business and charity sectors. A place on an NHS leadership scheme allowed Julia to capitalise on her innovative approach to health promotion and management in the UK, US and Canada.
Sian James, previously Director of Welsh Women’s Aid and MP for Swansea East, Sian now works part-time for Abellio Trains as well as working with the Howard League for Penal Reform and other organisations to promote the Corston approach for women in conflict with the law in Wales.
Jessica Taylor, an organisational development consultant who has 15 years’ experience of developing, delivering and managing a range of services for people whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and offending behaviour at an operational and strategic level.
Paula Walters, Director of NHS Centre for Equality and Human Rights. Paula sits on the Welsh Government’s Strategic Equality Plan Board, Budget Advisory Group for Equality, Disability Advisory Group and Human Rights Stakeholder Group as well as a number of other partnership and project groups to influence key policy makers and service provider agencies.
